Oh Sure! We can solve today's problems. But how?
We have conquered space, but terror and fear are still on the loose. We create new drugs to fight diseases, only to find life threatened by new communicable diseases on an epidemic scale.
We put a handle on the cold war, only to find ourselves in the heat of a ubiquitous battle against terrorism. And then there is the threat to the environment - we need a healthy environment to survive, but yet the way we live is continuously destroying the environment! What's going on?
On another front, major religions seem to be more and more divided the more they seem to know about and claim 'acceptance' of each other. Ironically, it seems that disagreeing monotheists are referring to the same God, and are hoping for the same Paradise. Is there something wrong here? Will there be fighting in heaven again?
Eroding standards dismantle the moral fabric of society. Even among the clerics and clergy - some don't seem to believe what they believed anymore! We find preachers "redefining" the Bible's definition of marriage. Talk about religious confusion!
How will we solve the Middle East crises? How can terrorism be stopped? What will brighten the gloomy economic picture? When will we have the cures for AIDS, SARS, cancer, etc?
Will politics and politicians come through? Will there be a technological breakthrough that fixes all ills - medical, social, and psychological? Will the answer come from science, politics, or both?
The big question is: Does the Bible have anything to say about a lasting solution to all of earth's problems, and can we rest our hopes on such prophetic statements?
Even if you are skeptical, you must admit, it's worth examining - however, 'slim' the chance. [Continue... The Great Controversy.]
